Join us for a night of drawing in the Benjamin Rush Medicinal Plant Garden! The instructors will give a short lecture on the folklore and historical uses of medicinal plants in our collection and techniques of scientific botanical drawing, then we will head out into the garden to create our drawings! Afterwards you'll try your hand at creating a delicious cocktail using herbs found in our garden.

NOTE: Please bring your own supplies.
- Sketchbook (no larger than 11"x14”)
- Graphite sticks 4b, 6b, 8 or 9b
- Graphite Pencils 2b, 4b, 6b, 8b, and ebony
- Pencil Sharpener – Must come with enclosed container for shavings!
- Optional: Colored pencils/ chalk pastels
About the Instructors:
Meredith Sellers is the Arts Coordinator for the Center for Education and Public Initiatives at the College of Physicians of Philadelphia. She is an artist, educator, and writer, devising and teaching cross-disciplinary arts curriculum and workshops for the Mütter Museum. She earned her BFA in Painting with a minor in Art History from the Maryland Institute College of Art in 2010 and her MFA in Interdisciplinary Fine Arts in 2012 from the University of Pennsylvania.
The Mütter Museum helps the public appreciate the mysteries and beauty of the human body while understanding the history of diagnosis and treatment of disease.
