Siobhan Conaty, PhD, Associate Professor of Art History at La Salle University and 2017 Kienle Scholar in Medical Humanities at Penn State College of Medicine, will lead an interactive session to demonstrate how fundamental skills gained in the study of art history can enhance clinical abilities in the health sciences. She will show how exercises that teach deep seeing, the investigation of social/historical context, formal analysis (pattern recognition), and critical thinking relate to evaluation skills essential to health professionals.
