Five Ways to Give The Mütter Museum a Helping Hand

Today is #GivingTuesday: Can you give us a hand?

The Mütter Museum and Mütter Institute exist to teach people about medical history, and to use modern technology to examine our collections and learn more about rare diseases.

As part of The College of Physicians of Philadelphia we also run initiatives like free STD screening for World AIDS Day, lectures on topics such as substance abuse and birth control, and internships and safe learning spaces for under-represented youth, including Philadelphia high school kids and LGBTQ youth.

Every time you visit our museum, attend an event, or buy something from our store, you help us to preserve medical history and inspire medics of the future. We don't often talk about how you can help us out by giving a donation

…so this #GivingTuesday here are five ways YOU can give US a hand!

Note: We're not talking about donating organs or body parts! To find out about our policies on donating specimens read our FAQS.

1. Buy gifts from our online store

Our online store carries unique and unusual medical and science-themed gifts, including Mütter exclusives like our famous plushy megacolon. As a special bonus, our conjoined cookie cutter is just $5 all season.

2. Buy gifts from Amazon with Amazon Smile

If you don't want to do all of your holiday shopping at the Mütter store, you can click here to donate to us simply by shopping at Amazon!

3. Become a Mütter Member

Mütter Museum members get all kinds of cool perks, such as a whole year of free entry to the museum, access to exclusive events, and discounts to many others like our popular beer gardens and annual Mischief at the Mütter! If you're already a member or not ready to become one, you can even give the gift of membership to someone you love

4. Donate

Again, we're not talking about donating organs…it's much easier than that! Whether it's a one-time donation, or a monthly donation of whatever you can afford, we'll be thrilled to the bones and our hearts will beat with joy. Currently any gift above $100 includes a year's membership.

5. Subscribe to our events on Facebook

If you're unable to lend us a hand right now, we understand, and thank you for reading this far. Until next time, please subscribe to our events on Facebook, and we hope to see you soon at one of our many upcoming programs!

The Mütter Museum helps the public appreciate the mysteries and beauty of the human body while understanding the history of diagnosis and treatment of disease.
