Today marks 157 years since the Mütter Museum was instituted, on December 11, 1858. We’d like you to give us some gifts, not for us, but for the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP).
For 12 days, until December 22, we’re offering Buy One, Get One Free on museum tickets for anyone who brings a toy or book to donate to children at the hospital.
CHOP’s donation guidelines are here:
- No used toys or toys made of fabric or wood.
- A wishlist of toys is available here.
- If you’d like to donate a book, recommended titles are here.
- $25 gift cards to Amazon, Target, Walmart, Toys R Us, iTunes and Old Navy are also appreciated.
No need to wrap the toy, just bring the new, unwrapped toy with you when you visit the museum.
The College of Physicians of Philadelphia, our parent organization, has very close ties with Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) since its inception, with many College Fellows playing a prominent role in its founding and medical breakthroughs.

We look forward to another 157 years, and the kids at CHOP look forward to your holiday gifts!
