Here at the Mütter it's Giving Tüesday, and this year we're raising funds to restore and display our Irong Lung—one of only a handful left in the world! Our 640-pound Irong Lung is such an important part of medical history and shows us how far we've come in understanding infectious diseases in just a few decades.
Why should you care about the Iron Lung?
Learn more by watching the videos on our YouTube Channel about the history of polio and the Iron Lung, the first polio vaccines, and why it's important to get it on display at the Mütter!
All money raised for Giving Tüesday will go to getting our Iron Lung safely on display with updated labels and text! Some of our very generous Fellows and Trustees have agreed to match donations up to $5,000. Our goal for this Giving Tüesday is to raise $10,000 and we need your help to do it!
There are lots of ways to help with Giving Tüesday: tell friends about it, share the Museum’s posts and stories, add a donate button for the Museum in your Instagram stories, become a member, visit the Mütter, or make a donation today!
The Mütter Museum helps the public appreciate the mysteries and beauty of the human body while understanding the history of diagnosis and treatment of disease.
