Surprising Link Revealed Between Chang and Eng, the Original Siamese Twins, and Star Trek

A case of hiding in plain sight: after over a century following the autopsy of Chang and Eng Bunker at The College of Physicians of Philadelphia, the Mütter Museum staff re-examined the published autopsy report leading to an astonishing discovery in the collection. After freshly studying the autopsy report, the discovery itself, and revisiting an interview by Star Trek’s creator, Gene Roddenberry, we learned that the museum collection and Spock, the Vulcan science officer, are connected!*

After much research, we can reveal our discovery about Chang and Eng, green blood, and Commander Spock!

Watch this statement by Museum Director, Dr. Robert Hicks:

*Okay, APRIL FOOLS! We may not “own” the origin of Spock, but every day we make new connections between our collections and vital research in understanding human health!
