About this Event:

Astrology, described the practice of seeking knowledge of the future or the unknown by supernatural means, has evolved into a cultural phenomenon, informing people on their days, weeks, months, and years based on the positions of the planets and the stars.

Our Historical Happy Hour will discuss examples and images pulled from materials straight from the stacks of our Historical Medical Library.

About the Speaker:

Candace Hesselbart is one of the Special Collections librarians working at the Historical Medical Library of the College of Physicians of Philadelphia. With a BA in Geography & Anthropology and her MS in Information Science, her work background ranges from the excavation of archaeological sites to organizing the library and archival collections of a Victorian Era Historic home. Originally from Maine, some of her favorite activities include hiking with her two dogs and watching the stars at night.
