Out of the Archives: Historical Medical Library Fall Open House

Our Historical Medical Library is bringing our collections “Out of the Archives” this fall! You’re invited to our Fall Open House, which we’re hosting in partnership with Archives Month Philly.
Our staff dug deep into the archives to find a plethora of fascinating materials from the history of medicine for you to learn about, explore, and even “adopt!” Meet our Archivist and Librarians, see a showcase of archival materials hand-picked by staff, and learn more about our work.
Guests can also support the Historical Medical Library and our Library Preservation Fund by “adopting” a unique piece of medical history in our Library and archival collections or making an individual donation. With adoption, you’ll receive a special card with a gift, as well as a note of support in the adopted item’s catalog record. Celebrate a milestone, honor an achievement, or leave a legacy for a loved one, all while providing essential funding for our work. This fund helps us steward our world-class Library and archival collection of the history of medicine.
Light refreshments will be provided, and visitors are invited to make a craft with our Senior Director of Collections and Research to take home as a keepsake.
This event is free to attend, and we strongly encourage you to register in advance.
NOTE: By entering the event premises, you consent to photography, audio recording, video recording and its release, publication, exhibition, or reproduction to be used for news, promotional purposes, advertising, inclusion on websites, social media, or any other purpose by The College of Physicians/the Mütter Museum and its affiliates and representatives.
