Philadelphia Grand Rounds: Eds to Meds - Funding Education as a Social Determinant of Health

Join the Section on Public Health and Preventative Medicine at the College of Physicians of Philadelphia for a multidisciplinary discussion discussing funding structures, resource allocation, and inequities in our educational systems. This event can be attended in person at The College of Physicians or streamed live on Zoom.  All are invited to join us for a reception with light refreshments following the program. When registering, please select how you will join.

About the Topic:

Education continues to be strongly linked with the health and wellbeing of individuals and communities.  Formal education has been correlated with life expectancy, healthy behaviors, and morbidity, while also critical in shaping opportunities for income and employment.  Disparities in access and quality of education have been shown and continue to widen across our city and state. This panel of multidisciplinary experts will discuss funding structures, resource allocation, and inequities in our educational systems, from K-12 to higher education in our region and will explore the impact on public health.
