How can you challenge yourself to use museum collections to reimagine historical moments that were never recorded in the archives? Or use your collections to enable your visitors to cultivate the thinking skill of historical empathy?
About the Event:
Led by Senior Director of Collections Erin McLeary and Senior Director of Interpretation Sara Ray, the Radbill Lecture is a hands-on workshop using the Mütter Museum's large collection of wax and plaster medical teaching models and historical medical instrumentation to help attendees explore different creative methods for imagining historical encounters from different perspectives and for cultivating the key historical thinking skills of context, causality, complexity, and contingency.
This is a participatory event, so attendees should bring a writing instrument of their choice, such as a laptop, tablet, or pen/pencil and notebook.
Event Timeline:
5:30 PM – Doors Open
6:00 PM – Program Begins
This event is sponsored by the Radbill Lectureship Fund.
